Growing up

I found myself restless at 4 in the morning.  Instead of getting up and doing crazy cleaning, I planned the day.  At around 7 my phone reminded Dominic had registration today.  Can you believe your son is now in 6th grade? I woke him up and we discussed what classes were being taken for after school.  We narrowed our choices down to Spanish, Guitar and Aviation. I am sure your doing the month in your head as you read this.  That's right a pretty penny plus tuition, tracks pass and discovery lunches.  As we were standing in one line after the other, we started discussing his after school schedule.  All those classes plus regular homework and then sports?  Which I think is doable if he doesn't want a life.  We changed our minds to only Guitar, by the time we got to the front of the line.....no after school classes. Which is awesome for us but he wants to take Spanish at home.  We agreed that if he didn't do well in Spanish at home he would sign up at school.

Why all the changes?  He got his awesome schedule!  He got in to the perfect Guitar Class and Music. Which means he gets to start another instrument.  It boggles my mind to what makes this kid pleased.  Music?? Judson must see something in him. I was pleased with his academics...another year of difficult classes.  Not only am I pleased with his placements but HE seems proud of himself.  Aviation filled up within seconds after 8 AM.  I guess I will be standing in line at 6 AM next semester.  Lucky me! What will I do having him home before 5:30?  I am guessing he will be hanging out with friends.  Or he will have more time for his studies? I can dream right. I can already see it.  Dominic sitting in front of his desk, listening to classical music and singing songs about how much he loves to please his mother.  Just perfect!

Anyways...ta da!! Can you believe how old he looks.
