Day 4 of Summer

Some days are meant to be lazy.  Today was for us girls.  I cleaned while the girls laid around watching clips of shows, hanging out with friends, watching Bella play with her new friend. After awhile we decided to go to see a movie.  I explained to them how it was different from the one they knew about....it didn't matter.  They talked the entire movie...lots of questions.

The boys had friends over for the whole day.  It's nice that they do their own thing.  I don't even have to feed them.  However there is one I have to get after to pick his stuff up.  I'm thinking of just....I don't know what but something.  They all ended up going to a movie as well.  They however picked a better one to go to.

I finished putting the totes in the storage unit.  Now the drive way is clear.  Well not completely but more then it was before.  Does anyone else hate laundry as much as I do?  I worked on that most of the day.  Still have at least 10 loads left.  Laundry Sucks!

Day 3 of Summer

These kids are sleeping in later and later....most of the time.

This morning I was awaken by stumbling boys attempting to get to the skate park.  They returned a mere two hours later....hungry.   Some how I talked into dropping of the boys at the movies later on.

I've got nothing really to share for today.  For some reason we have found ourselves hanging out with the in laws again.  We returned home to snooze the late afternoon away.  Mr. T and I did get most of the totes to the storage unit.  See nothing fun or exciting.

The night ended with us at the dog park...again.  Yep again.  Dominic is getting better at skating with Bella.

I guess it's not a bad way to end the day.

Day 2 of Summer

Another typical Sunday around here. You know the wake up, clean the kitchen, mess it up making breakfast, clean it back up, bathe the kids, get after them to get church clothes on, make it there ( church) late, leave after the kids go to primary, mess the kitchen back up to prep for lunch, sneak back to church, and come home and finish lunch.  You know...a normal Sunday around here.

Mr. T decided to fix the latch on our gate in the afternoon....batteries to the drill were not charged.  It will have to wait for another day.  I was excited for just a moment.  It's been broken for some time.  It's on my to do list.

We had visitors earlier in the day, which woke us up from our afternoon naps.  Which worked out pretty nicely to get us going for an evening of family.  Again...my in laws and cousins.  I promise they are not the only people we hang out with.  Mr. T had the awesome idea of tin foil dinners.  Which prompted invites.

If you have tin foil dinners, you have to cook them in a fire.  If you have a fire you have to have Smores.  If you have Smores you have to have Mr. T playing the guitar.

We had all of that except Mr. T playing the guitar.  He did later play inside.  I could listen to him play for hours.  Sometimes he will treat us to a song as well.  One day my son will be able to play like him.  After all Mr. T won't be with us forever.

I just wanted to mention that today we made all of our meals.  To some that's no big feat. For us it's a big deal.  At one point we were eating every meal out.  May was spent attempting to cook a few meals during the week.  June we are stepping it up to most meals being cooked.  After all it is summer.

Day 1 of Summer

I've come up with this silly goal.  I would like to record/document our summer.  It won't be long before I get bored with it.  But hey, I'll give it a shot.

We have started the summer around here. Some of the kids have been out several days, others just a few.  How ever I'm counting today as the first day of Summer. The boys planned a Saturday at the tracks with some friends.

I mainly went in case Izzy wasn't tall enough. He wasn't. The silly lady pushed his hair down.  Who does that? I'll give it a few days, then we will attempt again. We spent the time watching them race, catching up on events, and talking about feelings.  He has grown up so much yet not at all. Does that make sense?
Later on that evening we found ourselves getting our groove on at a Brazilian Festival.  Isn't this the cutest picture? I have never seen my father in law dance before.

The shocker of whole evening was that Izzy can't get his groove on.  The boy has two left feet.  It didn't use to be that way.  He does have rhythm.  Tatianna needed no assistance getting her feet moving.  Natasha was a little shy at first but loosened up.  Are you wondering if I got my self moving?  Yep...it's been awhile.

The evening came to a close with the boys skating the night away.  The girls, myself, and my sister hit the local dog park, and playground.  I forgot to mention that we cleaned out the garage. That's right folks we can now walk into the garage without stepping on any toys or tools.  No pictures where taken.  All you have is my word.

1st Birthday Day

Yesterday our dog turned 1! If it was up to the kids we would of thrown a huge party, with gifts, dog friends, and dog treats for all. Let's face it....she's a dog. Instead we sang Happy Birthday in the morning, gave her some morning treats, made her a tin foil dinner of her own.  That's all I could get myself to do for a dog. I will say....I love her more than I ever thought I would. She is our nanny dog. Like the dog in Peter Pan.

If we do tin foil dinners then we have a fire in the fire pit. Which means we spend the evening outside on the patio.  When we are outside then there are people on the hammock. If there's people on the hammock then they are cuddling.

When there is a fire pit....we get an uncle who plays the guitar....

For those of you that know us...2nd day we made our dinner!! Man we're sick of eating out. I think we also have eaten the food we bought at Costco last week. We are on a roll.

For some reason I was very productive today. I cleaned house, attempted to cook, washed a few loads of laundry, shaved Mr. T's head, helped with dinner, tricked the males to mow the lawn and trim, tricked Gabby to trim the raspberry and blackberry bushes and lets not forget running kids to lessons. Boy I'm tired.

Tumbling class is always fun to watch. I love to watch their little faces when they are not quite sure if they will make the landing. Mine always seems to have a smile, even when she falls. She loves this class.

I don't know what I would do without Gabby. She helps me stay focused.  She has been around for years but has only been our sitter for almost two years.  With her around things kind of have to be scheduled. If not then Mr. T, myself and her just lay around while the kids go crazy.  She is willing to do anything I ask of her, always with a smile.

Today she trimmed the raspberry and blackberry bushes in the pouring rain, made sure Natasha was focused during art lessons, made chocolate dipped strawberries with Tatianna and her friend, and helped detail the family vehicle.

After all my whinny and complaining today turned out to be a pretty awesome day. I was pleasantly woken up by sounds of knifes hitting a cutting board, the sizzling of something, and giggles.  After a little while I was surprised with breakfast in bed....and silly string.

Later on that morning I attended an event with some friends.  That's all I'm going to say about that. I will add that it was lots of fun....but probably will not do again for another year.

As for the grandmas....tears from both. I'm still in first place on my side of the family. My brother and I had a thing going on. It all had to do with who could make Mom cry tears of happiness first. I WON!! If you forgot, she got pictures, of the grandchildren.

As for the other side...it was a hit. Mr. T and I thought of something for her about a month ago but couldn't get it together in time for her birthday. So it got moved to Mother's Day.  Mr. T put all he had on the project. I thought of the idea but he did the labor and design of the project. As you can see below his mother was pleased.

What was the project? A patio table.

Your probably wondering who Mr. T is. He is my awesome brother in law. He is a big part of our little family for now. We hope it stays that way for a long while.
